The State run tenting campground across from Abol Bridge. Can get a bit noisey when the lumber trucks are running all night.

    I have fond memories of that place. I swam in the Penobscott river and caught a ride into Millinocket before heading to the Birches the next day. Then I summitted Katahdin. Wonderful!
