A.t. Crossing At Swift Road, Pa, 05/30/10

For approximately 0.2 mile north of the Snowy Mountain Fire Tower Trail intersection, the A.T. descends from over 2000 feet elevation to approximately 1700 feet elevation before crossing Swift Road. This is view from the A.T. looking east on Swift Road. There is some confusion as to the name of this road since some maps refer to it as Forest Road and Snowy Mountain Road (even more confusing since there is another paved road just to the north with the same name), but topographical maps refer to it as Swift Road.
