This was in Virginia...The owner of Catawba Valley General Store and Deli let a bunch of us wait out a thrunderstorm behind the store in barn type building...we made the most of it!

The Homeplace Restaurant wasn't open on this day - I ate there on my 1996 hike and was bummed to have beeen in Catawba on a day they were closed.
Sadly, we found out later, a boy was struck and killed by lightning produced from this storm.
