Shiraz-mataz

Here are three Pepsi can stoves burning at the same time. The 100% alcohol flame on the left is totally invisible. The middle stove has a pinch of salt and gives off a nice, orange flame. The stove on the right has about 20% white gas mixed in and the resulting flame is visible but somewhat larger and less manageable.

    why salt?

Does adding salt only change the color of the flame, or does it change the temperature?

Sorry for the late reply to both questions but I rarely check back on these pictures... TrippinBTM - why salt? I Googled "visible alcohol flame" and actually found this trick on some high school chemistry class experiment page. Seemed like an easy thing to try. Disney - I have no idea if it changes the temperature but I doubt it's a very appreciable difference.
