For northbounders, approximately one mile north of the junction with the Pole Steeple Trail, the A.T. begins a gradual descent from Piney Mountain for approximately the next 3.5 miles. This is a view of the trail looking north from a location approximately 2.5 miles north of the junction with the Pole Steeple Trail. SoBo 1081.3 NoBo 1097.8.
