That's the Foot Bridge, named in honor of Bill Foot. Without him this bridge would probably have never been built. The railroad donated the pileings and the National Forest paid for the bridge as a matching fund. I beleive thats how it worked. There was a good story about Bill and the bridge but I've noticed it's not on their web site now, it's under construstion. Bill passed away right before the bridge was finished. Him and his wife Laurel were known as Happy Feet when they did thier thru hike and they also biked across America.You can read about him by going to Natural Bridge ATC website.

I never got the chance to met Bill but I met and hike with his wife a month ago at Mt Rogers, nice lady.
