Description by bigcranky
Dragonfly tests my new UL bivy sack. The bottom is sil-nylon, the purple top is Momentum 90 fabric, and the mesh is, well, mesh. (The blue is my sleeping bag.) We got everything from thru-hiker.com. The design makes this very breatheable -- I've never had condensation, even when my hiking partner has been soaked. Of course, it's designed to be used under a tarp or in a shelter in bad weather.

How much does it (the bivy) weigh? -

Re: Homemade bivy sack
The bivy is exactly 8 ounces in its mesh stuff sack. We made it large on purpose -- I could probably shave an ounce by trimming the length and girth a little.
