Bly Gap, the gnarled oak and the morning sun. Bly Gap is 75.6 miles north of Springer; the GA/NC border is 75.4 miles north of Springer.

    Nope, that wasn't my tent/camp site. That belonged to a couple that were hiking a loop that started and ended at Tate City. What I remember is that they had a hunting dog that had followed them on the trail. The dog was very friendly, was 'branded' with a number, had an ID tag and a radio collar. They were using their cell phone to try to get the owner so that he could retrieve his dog.

    I remember that tree. I was so excited to get into N.C. and then I was so excited to have my picture taken with that tree. Then I remember getting my butt stomped by the trail about 200 yards past the tree. I think it was straight up.HAHA
