Just north of Daleville Va. Walked up on him without him knowing while he had his head in a hole in the ground. When he was done with that he started walking towards me. Finally he spotted me when he was about 20 yards away. He stared at me for about 15 seconds then made a funny noise, turned and ran down the mtn.

Did he make a clacking noise? I've read that when bears are nervous they clack their jaws. great pics -

The only noise I heard was after we stared at each other for a couple of seconds I moved my arm, he went EEK! and ran off down the hill.
