Black Bear Footprint in the Snow Monday, February 25, 2013

I saw this black bear footprint in the snow hiking on Sunfish Pond Fire Road in Worthington State Forest, New Jersey, Monday, February 25, 2013.

If you were hiking north on the AT next to Sunfish Pond, the fire road is across the pond on the right, or on the east side of its shore line.

I'm surprised a black bear would be out and about from its winter den this soon in the year.
