I was probably about 50 feet away with a 12x zoom. My heart was in my mouth but he didn't seem interested. -

where exactly on the trail is this bilbo? i know the area well and have never been fortunate to see bear anywhere out of SNP, i see you live close by, what i prime location to live... -

I live in Wintergreen Resort and love it hear. Most of the bears I have seen are close to Humpback rock or between Dripping Springs trail head and Three Ridges. Usually early in the morning. However, in the summer you never know when you may run accross one. Spring bear traffice is good. Find a location on the trail that has a spring and be patient. -
