Wed. Sept. 4, 2003. 4:55 PM. Plaque at this scenic location, overlooking the West Branch of the Pleasant River in the Hundred Mile Wilderness. Major preservation here - no camping zone.

    You found the plaque! Most hikers walk right on by the clearing where the old cabin was.

    There is a tremendous amount of history with the old cabin, Gulf Hagas, and the Katahdin Iron Works area. One of the nice places in the 100 mile wilderness.
