Description by Irish Eddy
Just north of the Carlisle-Harrisburg Pike, U.S. Route 11, the A.T. travels through a narrow section of woodland, bordered by trucking terminals on U.S. Route 11 to the east and west. For approximately 0.9 mile between U.S. Route 11 and Bernheisel Bridge Road, the trail is flat, wide, and fairly straight, with a few turns around or under fallen trees. This is a view of the trail looking north from a location approximately 0.4 mile north of the Carlisle-Harrisburg Pike, U.S. Route 11.
