Step 4 – Check and adjust.
Insert the opposite edge of the flashing into the crease and slide it in. Now you’ve got a cylinder. Put your pot into it. Is there about a quarter of an inch gap all the way around? If so, good! If it’s too big trim off the uncreased edge of the flashing. If it’s too small, tough luck because it’s really hard to stretch this stuff. Balance your pot on your stove and check the height. The top of the flashing should be at least 1 ½ inches higher than the pot.
