Description by Hikerhead
Happened when I stopped to take a 5 minute rest on top of Catawba Mtn Ridge Sat night. Placed my hand on a rock. Didn't notice it till I was loading back up and my hand felt hot and numby (made up word). Looked for the culpit but he/she was long gone. The little fang marks didn't show up till the next day.

I'm glad to say that nothing feel off. About a week later the black bite marks were still there. I dug them out a week later with a pin, just dried up blood. Thanks for asking -

I stopped for a minute along a trail in GSMNP and caught some movement on the ground...when I looked closer I noticed it was a Black Widow wrapping up a grasshopper.
