Mtn Mike & Madeline

Midway between Eastern Pinnacles & Wildcat Shelter (over one mile north of NY 17A) met these two hikers. It is 7:40 PM on Sat. June 13, 2009. They are Mtn Mike from Dahlonega, GA. Note his wrapped up left hand. He just took a spill before crossing into NY today. But he is OK. They were en route to Wildcat Shelter for the night. On the right is Madeline of Poland Spring fame. Actually she lives near there in Poland, Maine and she is hiking home - you could say. Other hikers said she is one strong older lady putting in some heavy mileage. They both started the day out at the Vernon, NJ Church Hostel
