hornets ahead!!!

Wed. Sept. 4, 2003. 9:15 AM. This hand posted sign was a warning saying "hornets under leaves and trees in 20 ft. Seriously got stung four times - walk around that spot through the trees." We were informed by northbound hikers at Whitehouse Landing about this situation, but were worried there would be no sign to indicate their presence southbound. Our fears were unnecessary. The sign was located about ten minutes north of Logan Brook Shelter in the Hundred Mile Wilderness in Maine.
