For northbounders, after crossing the pipeline right-of-way approximately 1.1 mile north of the Whiskey Springs Road crossing in Pennsylvania, the A.T. ascends from 1000 to almost 1200 feet in elevation along the east slope of a hill before descending to Little Dogwood Run.
