Yea...ultralighters. I'm not one. Sure, I can eat Stove Top stuffing and instant mashed potatoes when the need arises, but sometimes there's nothing like freeking gigantic satueed scallops in honey butter and pinot grigio in the middle of the woods.

    So is this your first night out from re-supply? If not, are the scallops frozen and how long do they last before you have to cook them?

    This was the second night out from the car. The weather had highs in the 40s and lows in the 0s.. They did start out frozen, got driven 9 hours in a cooler, and was on a sled for about 36 hours. Slighty crunchy just before dinner, they finished defrosting in warm water just before the saute pan.I would probably not try this in warm/hot weather. Baxter Park in late March, no problem.
