Here is a self portrait during a day hike to Unaka Mtn near Erwin, TN. I call it the Unaka Mtn Black Forest because of the tall pines, moss and pine needle ground cover and deathly quite. One of my favorite places. Photo taken 9/12/04.

    This is a great picture of a great spot! One of my favorite places on the AT. I kept expecting a hobbit to turn up from behind one of those trees....
