Re: Upper Goose Pond Cabin
The AT tracked west of Goose Pond in March '75 when I went through. The shelter had been taken down for some reason, so we (3 high school seniors on our 3rd AT section hike) weren't sure where we would be sleeping, especially as there was a foot of snow on the ground. The trail passed through a small housing development, where we flagged down a car to ask if they knew of a nearby tentsite. The driver offered up their garage, heated with a wood stove, which made for a cushy first night out. Even so, we were cold by morning.
