Alec Kennedy Shelter

Alec Kennedy Shelter is a single shelter with TWO bunks. The privy is fairly new and is a compost privy. What you see in this picture is what you get. The only camping spot is a small spot just south on the AT of this shelter with a small stream running near by just before the short climb up to the shelter. The spring at this shelter was dry when I was there in November so I am not sure about the water source there. If you care to press on there is a FREE small Thru Hiker camping area further north just before you get into Boiling Springs. You will see the sign for it just before you enter Boiling Springs as you are about to exit the last large field.
