Of course I am. If you don't do the approach trail your not really hiking the AT just looking for a short cut.

Well. I gave notice at work in January, my last day is March 15, plane tickets, a shuttle and reservations at the NOC for the 17th of March and we start north from there early March 18.
Did Springer to the NOC in October, obviously need to finish before then to get it 2k mikes within 365 days per the ATC.
Otherwise, did the approach trail once. Don’t feel a need to do it again.
d20 & Happy. (My wife and I hike together).
We prepped with five section hikes hikes in the past.
Looking forward to it and excited.
(posted above #37, so this is an update, now with specific dates. But now instead of a dream that I was playing with to keep sane at work it is an actual plan).
Let me be honest. I’m surprised in a lot of ways it is really happening. Happy about it too.
But it it wasn’t real until my boss at my annual review said if he could afford it he would retire and my wife said it was time to commit and not turn back.

Best of luck.....average over 30 miles a day without zeros? Sounds like an injury waiting to happen...perhaps you should consider actually enjoying your journey more and doing it over two summers ..all the best to you either way.( sorry folks..somehow this became a new post, meant as a reply to the person, (brauda02),aiming to do a 71 day thruhike...)
