looking for good 3 day hike
plan on parking at deep gap and taking a shuttle to winding stair gap. Is this a good 3 day hike back to deep gap? Or is this too short for 3 days.
24.4 miles should be two easy days depending on your conditioning and how much your carrying. Have you hiked a 8 or 12 mile day in the mountains recently?
You can add 3.5 miles - and probably save a little on the shuttle - by starting at Standing Indian Campground and hiking the blue blazed Kimsey Creek Trail to Deep Gap.
I had your trip reversed in my head on my other post. You can park at SIC and when you reach Deep Gap then take the KCT to your car. Sorry for the confusion.
This sounds like an excellent idea. how long is the kct.
Been awhile sense I have been in the mountains. 2yrs. I know terrible aint it.
