Looking For A Fast Drying Mid Hiking Boot

Seems like all the mid hiking boots just aren't made to dry fast like trail runners. The only mids that I can find that might dry fast are these Merrell Proterras. I think these are a fairly new model, Anyone have any experience with these? Is there any other mid boots out there that might dry close to trail runners?

I love my Converse C8695 Military boots. These dry fast and There a light weight boot, with a convenient zipper to slip them on and off they have a aggressive tread so you don't slip and airflow vents. These boots are super comfy. All thought Rebok bought the design and rights from converse they are still the same boot with a rebok logo on them now. Check out the http://www.salomon.com/us/product/synapse-mid.html this is the high top version of the shoe JPD wore for her speed hike. Not many "hybrids" around (tennis shoes with a hightop) but they are getting more common. Backpacker Mag- put out a list not too long ago too of this type of shoe- August issue maybe?

Thanks for the feedback. I see that Zappos carries the Synapse and the Proterras and they have free shipping. They even pay for the return shipping so I'll try both and send back the one I don't like. Any other suggestions?

I just called Saloman.
I need a 11 1/2 wide and I was told none of the Saloman are available in wide (I believe he said since 2009) but the Synapse Mid runs a little wide (sales talk, perhaps) and with their 30-day return policy I could return them if I don't like the fit.

Had mid-size boots. Weren't fast drying. Got Trail Runners
They're fast drying, plus lower weight. Perhaps that's not the answer you wanted, perhaps it's the answer you need. Too many factors I don't know to say either way. So, as they say now days, I'm just saying.

You should also look at the Merrell Moab Ventilators (the ones that are not waterproof - they make both). I was an old school heavy boot guy, but I have since gone to low-cut trail shoes, as I have found from experience that the ankle support is a myth. I like the low-cut version of these, with the Superfeet Green insoles. You will likely need around 4 pairs for an AT thru-hike.
