I'm referring to the ultralite cot. Sorry.

BOY, is UL a marketing term! Maybe this cot is UL compared to some other cots though. Take this into perspective: between my 20 oz ULA CDT back pack and 17 oz(long) WM Highlite 35* sleeping bag I still come in at 37 oz for two of the Big 3(4?) hiking pieces. That's roughly about 10-11 ozs lighter than this UL cot alone.

For a little less weight you can get the jacks are better bear mountain bridge hammock... At least as comfortable and not tent or shelter dependent.

Clearly its a great idea.. no I would not try it.. it has been out for years and I am sure folks have purchased it... I have several cots... they are wonderful. If you can afford it go for it.
Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

I once saw a tent advertised as an "Ultralight Backpacking Tent." It weighed 6 pounds.

I'm trying to equate an ULer getting an UL cot.

I'm being unfairly judgmental though basing what someone else should or wants to do with what I'd do. Let me stay on the OP's question. This would work in an AT shelter. It's only 24"wide. If for some reason you feel you absolutely have to sleep on a cot this sounds like it would work. A few AT shelter floors are very uneven being made from logs, hand hewn wood, nail/screw pops, splinters, etc and who the heck knows what's dropped or splashed or been wiped on these floors.

You know what's even more ultralight than this cot? A Neo Air.

intrigued, BUT...very pricey!! packable but heavy... will have to get my local REI to get one in stock.....so far only special order....
    I wonder...
how well will it survive uneven ground with very rocky soil?
or maybe even worse, sandy wash with rocks in the SW desert?
and using it with a front entry tent, crawling in, and turning around....

...if you are car camping, why not just take a normal, higher, more comfortable, $75, 10# cot? ....just say'in!

Funny you say this... Saw what I assumed was a thru hiker at Muskrat Creel Shelter (NC) in the Spring of 2012 with one of those folding wooden canvas cots you used to see on old MASH episoded set up under a tarp. Looked VERY comfortable.
