As long as the wife and I don't have a new child I'm planning on and April 1 NOBO in 2016.

Wow, I at first thought that stating to plan this far out would be seen as strange. I guess if it is, I at least have company. I will be retired. In my case my wife is very supportive though when I asked her if she wanted to hike it with me, she asked me how far. I said 2000 miles and change to which she replied " You're crazy, I don't even want to drive that far". In any case, I am aiming at March 2016 start, give or take a couple of weeks depending. I will start slow, partly because I am no spring chicken and partly because I know myself, if I don't pound that into my head I will start trying to go too fast, get hurt, and start planning all over again.

I am planning a 2016 northbound thruhike. I promised the wife I wouldn't go solo, so would love to connect now with anyone interested in coordinating/hiking together. Doesn't literally need to be side by side, but something that puts worried wives minds at ease. PM me if interested!

I'll be hitting the trail sometime early March in 2016. I graduate in December which gives me a couple months to prepare mentally. I can't wait, it's all I think about. All I'm doing from now until then is learning as much as I can about the trail.

I am planning a NOBO 2016 thru-hike and like you I am just waiting for a contract to end with the USN. I get out early FEB and plan to start my hike at the end of FEB. Have to finish before hopefully starting college in the fall!

I'm planning to leave late March 2016, finishing university is first on the list, and then working at my current student-job for a few months to get the necessary funds. Flights to the states are so expensive, it just adds another month.

I'm starting my NOBO hike a bit later in the year probably around mid May 2016 after I graduate from grad school.
