Spot to meet and hike with friends near Highlands, NC

I have friends who live near Highlands, North Carolina who would like to meet me on the trail and hike for 8-12 miles or so.
Does anyone have a road crossing where they could meet me and another road crossing where they could be picked up on my NOBO thru hike in April this year?

The nearest road access for them coming from Highlands, NC, is probably going to be Winding Stair Gap near Franklin.

At mile ~70, the trail crosses Lookout Mtn. Scenic Highway (76) and at mile ~110 crosses Murphy Road (64). There are also lots of smaller roads the trail crosses or goes near between these two, such as Charlies Creek Road, Ball Creek Road, W Old Murphy Rod and the National park road...etc.
