    Default Lambert's Meadow

One of my favorite camp spots along the AT is Lambert's Meadow between Daleville, VA and Tinker's Cliffs/McAfee's Knob. Nice tenting sites, good water source, beautiful. The Lambert's Meadow shelter is nearby as well. A good hike is the Andy Layne Trail to Tinker's Cliffs and north on the AT to Lambert's Meadow. A great overnight. Approximately 10 miles round trip.

Hey coolness- Welcome to WB! That is a really nice hike!! I like the Andy Layne Trail. It's a good place to jump off the AT for a nice round trip, like you said...

Thanks!! Don't know why I haven't joined earler...... I've hiked about 104 miles of the AT in Virginia, all sections. Our group has hiked the AT between Catawba (Rt.311) to Hog Camp Gap/Cold Mountain. Very likely will be on the Andy Layne Trail tomorrow with our 8 year old son Thomas. Good to "meet" you.

    Default Cold is right

Spent last night at Cold Mountain. It lived up to its name. Shooting stars were amazing! We are more than blessed.

I pondered that but decided it would be too cold. I knew I would miss a good show!! Glad you enjoyed it!! Were you the only one?

    Default Cold Mountain

I saw 2 guys and an unleashed dog. Did not introduce myself but did inquire if they had a leash. "Yeah. Its back at camp." I was nearly car camping, very warm, comfortable , and amazed.
