I don't think you need a pack, sounds like Oz is bringing enough for everybody. LOL

    Spotty.
Verizon is much better as far as coverage.
Maybe you should look at getting the same kind of prepaid Verizon phone plan that Oz is getting.

no im wearing marmot softshells, theyre repellant, but not waterproof. worstt case, i can wear longjohns underneath, will keep me warm enough.doesnt really matter getting wet on my legs as long as im moving. its when i stop. ive got a spare pair of lightweight nylon pants that can serve as a dry outer.i bring rain pants all the time and never end up using them more than maybe an hour or so. once yoour wet, youre wet. rainpants arent going to change that and they really dont breathe, no matter the claims, so wet them out from the inside sometimes.
i have a couple pair sireea designs and redledge. if youre a size m, theyre yours.

Thanks for the offer. i'm gonna go ahead a bring a pair of frogg togg bottoms. if I find I don't or can't use them I'll send them home. They're fairly light.

all those fairly light items add up. im going to be out longer than ive ever been, and choosing to forego the rainpants or the first time. the marmots are fairly light but windproof breathable, really breathable, and comfortable, quick drying.so it alloes me now to bring a second pair of pants for town, or to switch into if it becomes too hot for the softshells. dont forget, im just gonna be out for a month or two, so you may be wise to take them.
    or three
