I really like the mapping site. It's useful for when I need a map but know I will only look at it once or twice and just take it as a backup.

For a weekender like meself, it's is a great way of bringing only the maps I need.

For my trip coming up from Roan mountain to Partnership shelter I used the topo mapping website and copied and pasted into MS Publisher (Word would work but Publisher is much better) then cropped the maps to what I needed and then created a PDF and sent to my phone. The only thing to be careful of is the re-routes on the AT are not up to date on the USGS maps. I just editted the maps from the ATC Google overlay. Gave me something to do one night.
