Default Should I bring gloves on for Maine in July/August

    Hi,
We'll be doing a section hike from Katahdin to New Hampshire in late July/August. Are gloves worth having for warmth and/or climbing?

I was there in late June of 2011.
I used empty Fritos corn chip bags over spare socks with great success.
Not sure what you mean by climbing though.
For "hands on rock" type stuff; as in rock climbing. I think you want something more substantial that what I used.

No! Just use socks on your hands.

Yes, but you won't need gloves for climbing. I always carry a thin, polypro, liner glove no matter what month it is. If you find yourself hiking in the rain all day you will be glad you have them. Mine weigh 1.5 ounces. If you bring gloves bring a thin pair.
