Default How to get transportation to Katahdan

Hi all, I am hoping to start at katahdan and hike south for about 3-4 weeks. The only thing I am really stuck with is how to get transportation to Katahdan, I am from pennsylvania but my hiking partner lives in newton Mass so we will probably be leaving from boston. Any ideas/information on how to get to Katahdan would be much appreciated!

This link is about the most consise one I have seen

The best shot is to take the bus from Boston to Medway via Concord Coach with a transfer to Cyr Bus lines. That saves you some of the hassles with transfers. Note this is a long day compared to driving a car up. Plan on staying in Millinocket at the AT Lodge and catch a ride into the park in the AM with them.
