Early on in my hike, I have no idea what my pace is gonna be like at first, except that it'll be s-l-o-w. Anyhow, the point is, instead of a mail drop and resupply at Neel's Gap, my dad lives less than 2 hours away in N. Georgia and would be willing to bring a food resupply box to me in person and also take back anything I discover that I just don't want to carry with me after that first section from Springer. It'll save on shipping charges and also probably save me a few bucks on resupply too. Although I fully intend on spending a few $$$ while there, every bit helps.
Anyhow, I figured that I'd call once I got to the top of Blood Mtn and say hey, I'm almost there, go ahead and leave the house now...
Is this possible? I'm not the type that's tied to my cell (almost always leave it in the car when hiking or camping), but I've decided that I will take it w/me once I go on the long walk, and this would likely be the first time I'd use it,
Thanks,
DW
