Also my maildrop was there ready to pickup. And they have Priority Mail boxes there to send stuff out as well.

Old thread. Haven't been there since the fire. Have always easily hitched or talked up a ride.
Several yrs ago after inquiring from several hotels, etc in Gburg and Pigeon Forge getting quotes of $90+/night not wanting to spend that much I was steered in the direction of a discount paper with coupons inside Golden Corral on a new rack that bagged me a $45/night nice clean room w/ pool, centrally located, near GSMNP, and offering a Golden Corral coupon too. Check for room coupons also at the tour, eatery, discount, etc kiosks. Easy hitch from Newfound Gap into G burg and vice versa. Actually, not a stand on the side of the road sticking your thumb out hitch if you cant up a ride at teh Newfound gap parking Lot Overlook.
