    UPDATE
    Trail name: WildWilly
    NOBO
Started March 12 and got as far as Waynesboro, PA on July 8 before a persistent foot problem caused me to seek medical attention. Doctor advised surgery with three weeks of rest and no hiking. Decided to head home and take care of it. Plan to resume next spring or summer and complete my AT hike. The experience was truly a life-changing one for me, and I can hardly wait to get back on the trail next year!

Just got home - summited 9/6/2013 with glorious weather. Had an absolutely atrocious day in the 100 Mile Wilderness with solid rain and cold temps (was not fun climbing down Chairback)

    Hello Wild Willy,

This is Sidewinder we met at Hawk Mountain shelter. I am sorry you had to get off the trail and I hope you are getting your strength back.

I will be back on the trail soon. Sounds like you had a great hike and be safe, I am looking forward to doing about 120 miles here in VA week after next.
    Regards and best of luck,
    Ken Davidson

    Hello WildWilly,

I met you camping near Wyah Bald. You shared your poundcake with me and I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I always kept my eye out for you and wondered where you went. I finished 9/16.

    UPDATE
    Start date: 6-21-13
Just made it into Harpers Ferry a couple days ago, taking our sweet time appreciating everything. Less than halfway to Georgia! Life is great except for the stress of the Shenandoahs being closed. Less than 50 miles from there, so we'll see how it goes. Dogs are doing great!

Congrats El Flaco! you're becoming a legend on the AT. You had some rough winter weather coming down the finish line, glad to hear you're home safe. Hope to walk the trail with you again some day. Praha4, aka Florida Mike, aka Noboat
