    Default Snake skin on Hat?

    T
hree years ago I found a snake carcass in one of my hiking trips that was a road kill. It was about 45 inches long with a nice brown skin .

I skinned the snake carefully and now I have the skin. I was thinking about sewing it to my Tilly Endurable hat that I use for my hikes. What do you think about a guy that is wearing a hat with a snake skin ? Is it cool, good, bad or ugly in your mind?

I'm thinking it's going to rot when it gets wet unless you tanned it. Stinky!

Everyone wants to cut weight, why add any? And I think you would get the trail name "Jungle Jim".

I honestly don't think anyone would care what you put on your hat. Besides, why worry about the opinion of others?

I think you have to carry a large bowie knife and try to manage an Australian accent when wearing the hat.

Why not just wrap the brim of that Tilly hat in fabric softener laundry sheets?

Put it on your hat, you obviously took time in bringing it back, pride in skinning it and now what? Put on your hat and enjoy the stories that you can tell about it.
