Question Looking for used maps for the A.T.

    Hi All,

Does anyone know where I can buy used AT maps? Or would anyone happen to be selling theirs? I support the Appalachian Trail Conference, but with all the planning and buying gear, the budget is running low.
Also, are the maps a must on the trail? Or can on go without them?

On the AT you should be fine without maps. They do provide interesting side trails, roads and towns. And possibly handy (with a compass and the skills to use them) in a very bad situation like hurt and lost off the trail. Honestly not needed, just a guide should do.

You are hiking a trail. You need maps.

Sounds like good reasons to me to carry one...
