My version of waist-level lighting for night hiking.

I ended up using zip-ties to serve as attachment points for my Princeton Tec Quad to the buckle of my Jam. Turned out pretty well if you ask me.





The buckle opens/closes as normal without the headlamp on, and it's easy to add or remove with the notches that are there to remove the band.

RWheeler, great job. You definitely saved some money over my solution, which was to buy a product called the LiteBelt made by GoMotion. I bought it for a couple ultamarathons which involved night running/walking. Having the light source at belt level definitely lets you see a lot better than having it right above your eyes -- no glare, casts shadows giving you better depth perception. Your solution makes a lot more sense for hiking than my dedicated LiteBelt since it's a lot lighter and you can switch it back and forth from a waist light to a head lamp depending on need.
