:banana Leap Day For the Win!

I'm sure I'm not the only one starting on Leap Day! Who else is staring on the 29th?

Anyone staying at the Hiker Hostel on the 28th?

Shouldn't you have at least waited a week to what the groundhogs had to say?

I started Leap Day in 2004 section-hiking with Northern Harrier who started his thruhike. He finished August 29. Met many other '04ers that day. Hike up the Approach Trail, spent the first night at Stover Creek.

Excellent! Normally I'd say I'm the one with the big beard, but that does not make stand out much in the hiker crowd.

How we doing folks?! I'm wicked excited -- I bought my camera today. Was on the cover of the local newspaper on Sunday! My donations for the Chicago Fire Foundation have been rolling nicely AND my grandmother trail name, Weezie, will be summiting Springer with me to see me off!

What's up LYC (Leap Year Crew)?!?

I'm so stoked to start my slow accent of the Approach Trail on the 28th. My ride needs to drop me off on Sunday night, unless anyone is coming from/ through the Asheville area on Monday?

    Can't wait to meet everyone

My anxiety level is slowly building, working on my mail drops right now. Pretty sure I've got everything else figured out though.

I'm leaving Winston-Salem on the morning of the 28th and starting the Approach Trail on the morning of the 29th. If somethings falls through, PM me.

The Legend of the Thru-Leapers. They started hiking the Appalachian Trail on February 29th but at midnight they all disappeared without a trace. Rumors say that every four years you will find them slowly making their way towards Mt. Katahdin.

    Good luck!
