    There was a big push at CES this year trying to convince electronics manufacturers to incorporate such superhydrophobic coatings/materials into their products for exactly this type of protection.

    Makes total sense to me.

    Looks pretty cool, but I don't know too what extent I would trust it. I have a Lifeproof case that works great, is a lot slimmer than the Otter Box and also waterproof and submergible.
