Default Can you get to Anna Ruby falls from the AT

I noticed Anna Ruby falls near Helen GA & I was wondering if any of the trails leading to it connect to the AT?

No you cant camp on the trail to Ana Ruby falls. Hmmmm. Unicoi is located a few miles outside of Helen and the road to Ana Ruby falls is a few miles. You do have to pay to park there, and there is a visitors center and a few Park Rangers man it. There is another trail that goes from Ana Ruby falls to another park of Unicoi called the Smith Creek Trail, but I don't know off hand if you can camp on it. I know it ends up in front of a camp ground.

You might be able to road walk FS 79 from Anna Ruby to Indian Grave Gap.

    I've never done it though.

    SE is correct.

I was in Helen just over a year ago for my Honeymoon. There is a trail that splits off at the falls but it leads eastward over to Hickorynut Ridge and back to Unicoi SP. The falls are nice. But its an easy 30 minute paved path walk. Its for tourists.

Helen is just a tourist trap. A German Gatlinburg.

Thanks TV, that's what I was thinking about Helen but I thought a side adventure down FS79 to see these rare falls would be worth it? Plus I'm looking forward to seeing if I can bushwhack to it from the backside
