Thread: missing person?

  1. #1

    Default missing person?

Possibly this has been resolved by now, but I read In today's (9-14 AP dispatch) paper that searchers at AFSP are a looking for a 54-yr old woman who has been missing since Monday night. Dawson County Sheriff's Dept treating the case as someone lost in the woods at this point.

I love my SAR men and women but sometimes I wonder who gives them their orders:

Today, a four-man crew from the Dawson County fire department rappelled down the falls to look for the woman's body.

Perhaps the SAR team wanted an excuse to go rappelling. "Hey, I think she may be down there, let's go check."
IDK, just a thought. Glad she was found and the story seems a little odd about how they go there to me. Of course, all news articles hace to be taken with several grains of salt.

I meet a couple in MS at a local National Forest campground who were on their way to the AT to hike it. They were from Texas and on bicycles, hmm, they seemed more like classic transients to me. But hey, they can go hiking too.

I know a bunch of SAR guys in our area. That is EXACTLY what they would say.

Glad to hear she was found safe.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that alcohol was involved.

Judging by the photo, you are on a very solid branch.

You got to wonder where they got that photo; looks like a mugshot.
