Default Smokies Hike 1st week of August

Looking to do around 45 miles through the southern section of the Smokies along Fontana Lake starting in Bryson City Tuesday the 2nd-Friday the 5th. Have done overnights by myself but a little unsure of doing a 2-3 night by myself. Let me know if interested in trekking with me.

You will have plenty of Company in that area, and it's easy hiking.

I wouldnt exactly say a 'lot' of company. The Lakeshore Trail is one of the more remote areas of the park, especially between Hazel Creek and Forney Creek. It takes come hard core hikers to get in and out, or to do a loop. I am curious what itinerary you are considering. Are you planning to start at the tunnel (Goldmine Loop) and hiking LST over to Hazel then up to High Rocks and return to the tunnel? Or are you looking at a straight shot over to Fontana and then catch a ride back to your vehicle in BC?

Yeah that loop was exactly what I was planning on doing, along with hitting the bone valley trail while en route. It is a lot of mileage to cover solo so i have a backup plan with several shorter trails to tackle during the week that wouldn't keep me so remote by myself over night.

I will be doing that same area during that same time frame. Even though it is remote, it is one of my favorite porions of the park. It is not nearly as "crowded" during the week but you still won't be alone. PM me if you would like to meet.
