    The movie "southbounders has a free online screening this weekend at

    only "dramatic" film I'm aware of about hiking the AT

    Cool, I liked Southbounders, in many ways more so than non-fictional AT videos. It's also an instant play on Netlix.

    Interesting view on trail life. Hadn't noticed the 5 second cameo by Keith Shaw before.

    I think ben wagner did a very nice job, considering what he probably had to go through to get his shots. he didn't just do a narrative, and that takes some extra effort, as if the effort of shooting a decent narrative about the trail isn't difficult enough.

    It plays about 4 nights a week at our hostel....hikers just can't get enough of the trail.

    By the way, is that AWOL at 1:52 into the flick????

    Yes, kind of a funny story. He (Ben) randomly nicked a northbounder summit photo off the internet for use in the intro part of his film. A couple of years later I met him at the Gathering and did a book-for-video trade. He had no idea that I was in his film, and neither did I till I got home and watched it.
