Red face Looking for thru hike companions-2012

I have been looking on the forums at everyone's start date plans, but not many specify if they are with a group or solo.
    I'm leaving between march 15-April 1, 2012
I have friends who will meet me for small sections along my journey, but alas, I am considered a solo hiker.
I am hoping to find a group to hike with.
Anyone else in the same boat??

hiking that time off year you WILL never be alone.
I'm so confused, I'm not sure if I lost my horse or found a rope.

    Hooch Nurse agrees.

Like others have said, you won't be alone down there that time of year. That said, I moved this over to the "Hooking Up" forum just in case you want to find someone for sure to start with and/or plan with.
    Don't take anything I say seriously... I certainly don't.

I am! I just graduated from high school. I'll be turning 18 in February and before I start college I really want to hike the AT. I currently have no partner and as a girl I don't fancy thru-hiking alone. If you don't mind hiking with someone a bit younger then let me know! I'd be leaving right around the same time!

As others said, there are HUGE waves of hikers on the trail around this time, and as for hitching, well, the fastest way for a guy to get a ride is to hitch with a girl, so you'll have plenty of hitch-hiking safety buddies.

Hahaha! I never thought of it that way. The thing I am probably most afraid of on the trail is hitch-hiking! That makes me feel a little better.

I am looking to start the same time and would be willing to join up in a group as well. Was planning April 1 but may push sooner to mid march to be done by mid September for wedding I will be in.
