    Default Shuttle from Neels Gap to Amicalola

    Hey guys! I just joined this site tonight! I've been on a few trips on the AT (years ago), but a buddy of mine and I have a trip planned in a couple of weeks and I am trying to find a way to get a ride/shuttle from Neels Gap back to Amicalola (that isn't going to cost us so much!). Any suggestions?!? Thank you!

    I would prefer something that wasnt going to cost us $82... Taxi's in New York City arent that expensive!

    Josh and Liegh are great. Stayed there last week and used thier shuttle service a couple of times. The breakfast they put on is great.

    Actually its nearly the same.

    $2.50 upon entry + ($0.40/ 0.20 miles)(40.3 miles)+ $0.50 NY State Tax Surcharge = $83.60

    I checked around for quotes of the same trip last year, and most were about that.

    80 is very reasonable for a person and a car. If you want cheap, walk back or use a thumb. Either is effective and less.

    If you hire a professional driver, keep in mind that gas is almost $4 a gallon. And cars cost money to maintain, and drivers have to make a living.

    The cheapest way would be to hitch-hike and just split the gas with the driver.

    Somewhat incorrect. Speaking to Ron last week, he still has not raised his rates in the past three years. Currently with the present gas prices he still has decided not to.
