LOL-- This month she will be leading a 3.5 mile Hike around Hot Springs for an event from OUR STATE magazine. Kind of anti-climatic, don't you think? Jen's the BEST in so many ways! So proud to know her.

I wonder what she does when she wakes up tomorrow...I wonder if the body requires a cool down process after such an endeavor. Like hiking 10 miles for the next week or so.

I'd think with that much endurance that leg cramps will be a huge issue in a few days. And she'll be riding high with interviews for a time but there will probably be a let-down period when things quiet down.

Well, I guess it could be, but my money would be that it was in reference to Governor Mark Sanford, who told his staff that he was hiking the AT when in actuality he was boinking his girlfriend. I'd expect far more CNN viewers to recall who Sanford was and what he did than to know about Bill Bryson.

Why? It is not off-topic and the banter is civil. I only (personally) close a thread when it is really nasty and/or off-topic (cf. the snow cave dude. It was no longer a speed hike)
