At the old shelter for lunch last week.

    Great water source.

Lots of flat land around for camping near shelter.

Has anyone been there in the last week or so? How's the spring running?

I haven't been in that area recently, but two good sized creeks right before you get there coming south to north. Also, given the rain we've had recently, the spring should be good. It always seemed to run, even in the driest years.

Standing Indian shelter is nice too (south) but the next one north just over Albert mnt is smaller but has a nice privy and covered table area. If Carters Gap is full and your going south camp at Beech gap trail head (about an hour). Nice tenting area with water.

About just where is that water located at the Beech Gap trail head.

to the right as you come into the campsite going trail south. It's on the other side of the old log lying parallel to the trail and back into the woods aways.

Last time I was there, about two years ago, it was gone.
