    Yep the PNY Swivel just survived the washer / dryer. FYI
    Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

    Funny, my wife never checks my clothes before tossing them in the wash and a Sandisk Cruzer recently survived as well.

    I managed to wash and dry my Sandisk too! I was surprised it still worked. I guess they can be trail rated now...

    Many electronics are waterproof. Just make sure you dry it completely before you plug it back in or turn it on.

    http://www.google.com/search?q=tuff+...ient=firefox-a This usb device is teeny weeny and its marketed as a water/dust/dirt proof. I've had mine for about 8 months and no problems. I can vouch for the water part, though i don't recommend putting anything that is wet into a p.c

    Somebody try boiling one in your cook pot over an alchy stove and report back. This could end up being a fun experiment.

    Here's a couple more suggestions:

    -- Dangle one on the outside of your pack during your entire thru hike and see if it works at the end

    -- Strap one on your boot shoe lace during your thru hike
